A Bit of History

Debbie LeeWelcome to Raw Living Style. My name is Debbie and I had been a vegetarian for over 20 years. I thought this was enough, but I still suffered with terrible digestion problems and hosts of other symptoms most of all depression, low self-esteem which was a result of my addiction to sugar.

I moved to Spain in January 2004 and that was the beginning of a new discovery of raw living foods. As the weather was so incredibly warm and sunny I didn’t feel the need to put cooked foods in my body and unconsciously I began eating an abundance of raw salads, vegetables and delicious fruits. I noticed how my skin began to radiate and that I had an abundance of energy. I lost weight and felt a new confidence that I had never felt before.

I became more and more interested in how food affected your health and began studying nutrition from the School of Natural Sciences and went on to gain an advanced diploma in holistic nutrition.

I returned to the UK in February 2006 and through many hours of research to understand more about eating raw living foods, I discovered the Hippocrates Health Institute in Florida, USA. They work principally on eating a live raw food diet given through the Life Change Programme, which aids the body to detoxify both physically and emotionally. I knew this was the answer for me so I booked the Life Change Programme in June 2006 and I have never looked back. I lost more weight; my energy levels increased and so too did my self-esteem. I had a new vitality that didn’t exist before.

Upon my return from Hippocrates I began incorporating the lifestyle into my daily life; drinking wheatgrass and green juices every day, adding sprouts to my salads and creating exciting nutritious raw dishes. I keep everything simple so that digestion is easy and love the way I feel. Eating this way along with rest, sunshine, positive thoughts and exercise keeps me physically happy; and being physically healthy keeps me emotionally happy and stable.

I wanted to take this lifestyle to a new level and found a raw vegan culinary art school called Living Light based in California, USA and that’s where I qualified as a raw food culinary chef and instructor.

The results of my commitment to the lifestyle became very noticeable to others and soon people were asking me how they could integrate the lifestyle into their diet. So, I have developed these workshops to help others on their journey to optimum health through eating living foods. Today I devote my life to teaching others to create lives of health, joy, and abundance.

Debbie is a certified in Holistic Nutrition, Reflexology, Thai Yoga Massage, E.F.T (Emotional Freedom Technique). Debbie is a graduate of Hippocrates Health Institute, and internationally recognised raw food chef and instructor trained at Living Light Culinary Arts Institute, USA.
